One of Northern Microlight's best assets is being established on a purposely chosen site in the midst of flat open countryside away from controlled airspace.  Since its founding in 1985  we turned a 40 acre pasture into the first dedicated microlight airfield in NW England gaining full planning permission in 1995  Over the years  the hangarage has increased and we have capacity for 60 aircraft with plans for more fixed wing aircraft in the near future. 

St Michael's  Airfield is the flying home of one of the longest established microlight flying clubs NWMAC who hold regular fly outs and social events throughout the year weather permitting.
